Humans need the same 5 simple things as plants to survive:
Light: Take a break from work and enjoy the sunshine. The natural vitamin D helps with bone health, immune system, regulating sleep, increasing energy, and overall improves mood.
Fresh Air: Simply breathing fresh air, any time of day or in any weather, helps with
relaxation, digestion, feeling calm, and overall improves mood.
Water: Drinking cold water helps reduce anxiety; hot water (like tea) helps reduce
stress. Water helps us wake up in the morning, and helps us sleep better at night. It
also helps with (guess what?) improving mood.
Nutrition: Eating nutritious foods helps us maintain energy, recover from hard work, it
prevents illness...and....can contribute to an improved mood.
Personal Space: Having personal space, whether it's time to yourself, or literal space, is
important for emotional regulation, promoting a sense of self and independence, and
of course, improved mood. Bonus if you use this space to move!
